This Yankees team, it feels special. The Bombers outlasted another rain delay to notch their seventh win in a row. They’re now 8-1 on the year. The world is a complete dumpster fire, and on so many different levels, but at least the Yankees are great. It’s the little things, you know?
We’ll have a full recap up in the morning, but in the meantime, enjoy some highlights.
Winner of the Game
Gio Urshela is the player we wanted Miguel Andujar to be. There, I said it.
Okay, I’m the high man on Urshela, and that’s probably an exaggeration, but he’s for real. He isn’t a flash in the pan or one-season wonder. In addition to adding to his highlight reel at third base, Gio launched a three-run homer off Deolis Guerra.

You can’t fake that. Gio rocks. Get it?
Honorable Mention: Gerrit Cole, Brett Gardner for going to the opposite field
Loser of the Game
The Yankees are basically clicking on all-cylinders, so it’s tough to pick out someone who dropped the ball, so to speak. Gary Sanchez’s slow start continued on Monday night, though, as the catcher went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. Poor, Gary.
Honorable Mentions: Nic Lentz’s strike zone, the Phillies for preventing Aaron Judge from homering in six-consecutive games
