Here’s your open thread for the day.

Hello everyone. Hope you’re all doing well, and particularly hoping that everyone in the southeastern US are safe right now in the midst of hurricane season. Get somewhere safe soon if you aren’t, and wishing those of you in the area the best.

It seems weird to say it after the team just sat through a four-day period of inactivity, but the Yankees probably could use the off day today. They dropped a brutal doubleheader and have two more staring them down this weekend, in what isn’t even in the top-three weirdest things about this season so far. They also won’t get another one for a while, so make the most of the rest now while it’s possible.

Today’s lineup on the site begins with Josh looking into an unusual potential trade target, and how it does and doesn’t work out. Dan Carty looks into the possibility of acquiring a Seattle pitcher that isn’t Taijuan Walker, and Cooper analyzes how Aaron Hicks’ swing has a flaw in his left-handed stance. Finally, Matt brings us into the 2000s in our OOTP alternate universe sim. Give them all a look through, and feel free to use this space as your open thread in the meantime.

Fun Questions

1. What’s the bigger area of need right now, pitching or hitting?

2. How much of the Yankees’ injury spree do you think is the league-wide problem versus their own bad luck with health?
