The Yankees return to baseball after a long, unanticipated break did not exactly go as planned earlier today.

The Yankees couldn’t get much offense going and didn’t muster a run or even a hit off a debuting Ian Anderson until the sixth inning. Gerrit Cole had probably his worst start as a Yankee so far, getting tagged for three home runs as the Braves won 5-1.

Now we move onto the nightcap. Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball as the Yankees try to win for the first time since the 17th. Tanaka struggled in his most recent outing, allowing five earned runs (six total) on eight hits in just four innings.

Here’s how the team will line up behind him:

As for Atlanta, Max Fried will take the mound. So far in 2020, Fried has been excellent for them, allowing just five runs across his six starts. He has yet to allow a home run, which will be a test for the homer friendly Yankees.

Here’s the rest of their lineup:

First pitch will be at 7:10 PM ET. You can watch on YES, or stream via (out-of-market only). WFAN/WADO have the radio call, as well. Go Yankees, go baseball!
