The Yankees had a nightmarish weekend at Tropicana Field. Not only did they lose three out of four games, but they lost their designated hitter, too. Giancarlo Stanton landed on the injured list with a left calf strain, suffered while advancing to second on a wild pitch on Saturday evening. The loss stings, because Stanton had been crushing the ball. With his absence expected for the immediate future, that brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday prompt:

What’s the best way for the Yankees to replace Giancarlo Stanton in the lineup?

The Yankees have a number of internal options when it comes to replacing Stanton. They could always stand pat, platooning Mike Ford and Luke Voit. That’s the path of least resistance. But they could also call up the alternate site and summon Miguel Andújar or Clint Frazier. Their electric bats could jolt nearly any lineup. Or, perhaps you want to see the Yankees hit the trade target. They added Edwin Encarnación last summer, after all. Batters like Travis Shaw or Shin-soo Cho come to mind as possible trade candidates. Write up a plan and we’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.

How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.

Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (August 14th) for your post to be considered.
