The Yankees have a lot of bats that they’d like to see in camp, and they’re the ones making the rules for these games. Today the team decided that the double DH was a hit, so they’ve given each side two of them. Also the lineup has 10 batters instead of nine. Sure, why not?

Taking the mound for the Yankees (and Bombers) today will be Deivi Garcia and Jordan Montgomery. Garcia sprinted through the Yankees’ prospect rankings last year after he earned starts in all three tiers of the minor league system. He looked like a potential call-up for the end of the year heading into his stint with Triple-A Scranton, but after giving up 24 earned runs in just 40 innings there it was clear he needed a little more time. Garcia has a chance to impress as a member of the taxi squad this year, and it begins with how he looks here in camp.

On the other side, Montgomery is a pitcher expected to play a part in the Yankees rotation off the bat. Fully recovered from undergoing Tommy John surgery midway through 2018, Montgomery slots in as a bottom of the rotation starter with a chance to finally build off of his impressive 2017 rookie season. His command was excellent in the beginning of spring training, issuing just one walk while striking out 16, but he did give up several home runs.

Here are the lineups for the Yankees and Bombers tonight:

First pitch is scheduled for 6pm EST, and you can catch it on the YES Network.
