It’s Rivalry Week, Part II at SB Nation. Team sites will continue to explore the bitterest rivalries and toughest opponents in club’s histories. Last week we discussed things from a historical perspective, but this week, we’re going to zoom in on the current season. That brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday Prompt:
Who is the toughest opponent the Yankees will face in 2020?
Because of the league’s realignment, the Yankees will play exclusively East Coast teams. They will play 40 games against teams in the AL East, plus 20 against the NL East. With thart in mind, who do you expect to be the toughest opponents? The Mets have a power-packed lineup, and a rotation fronted by Jacob deGrom and Marcus Stroman. Plus, there’s no love lost between fans, as evidenced by our recent post comparing Luke Voit and Pete Alonso. The Braves, whom the Yankees faced in two World Series showdowns in the 90s, will likely give the Bombers a hard time. And who could forget divisional opponents like the Rays and the upstart Blue Jays. Head over to the FanPost section and submit your answer. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.
How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.
Submit your answer in the FanPost section before Friday (July 10) for your post to be considered.
