Hello everyone, welcome to the last open thread before the not-so-dog days of August. It’s been weird not dealing with trade rumors throughout the month, but perhaps we’ll get some in the coming weeks instead of the usual discussion of pennant races with the trade deadline moved up.

We’ve got a lot to get through today, with a quick turnaround for the Yankees heading home following a late night in Baltimore. Before tonight’s game, you might want to check out some of the articles we’ve got for you today. Dans Kelly and Carty both have new pieces, with the former looking into where the Yankees’ newest prospects landed in the organization’s rankings and the latter discussing how DJ LeMahieu’s future can be impacted by Gleyber Torres’ play at shortstop. Tom has you covered with a series preview for the Sox, and I’ll be answering your questions in this week’s mailbag.

Fun Questions

1. Is The Rivalry diluted when one side is clearly stronger than the other?

2. How many innings can Jordan Montgomery collect in his season debut?
