Baseball is finally back! We have kept you up to date with what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shutdown back in March. Although the season is underway, we’ll still provide weekly updates on what your favorite Yankees do in their free time.
“We’re playing for you.”
Before taking the field for Opening Day, the Yankees released a video that featured some of their biggest-named players speaking on the ongoing pandemic and the frontline workers. It was an awesome tribute to all the nurses, doctors, etc as they continue to work through these uncertain times.

Jasson Dominguez
Rain does not stop New York’s top prospect from getting his work in. The 17-year-old posted a video of him flipping a tire in the mud and pouring rain. As he put it in his caption, “Martian on a mission.”
Mike Ford
The Yankee first baseman posted a heartfelt message on Instagram when he found out he made the team’s Opening Day roster. From undrafted free agent to the New York Yankees Opening Day roster, Ford has certainly come a long way.
Gleyber Torres
Yesterday was Gleyber Torres’ four-year anniversary of being traded to the Yankees from the Cubs. He took to social media to reflect on these past few years and how much he appreciates New York. We love you too, Gleyber.
4 years ago today, I got traded to the Yankees. One of the best things that has happened to me. ❤️ NY

CC Sabathia
The big lefty celebrated his 40th birthday on July 21. While he is no longer playing for the Yankees, he left a lasting impact on his teammates and the franchise as a whole. Take a look at what some of his former colleagues posted for CC’s big day.

Aroldis Chapman
Chapman has been out due to his positive test for COVID-19. However, while he is at home, he is rooting for his team and still working out. On a more optimistic note, he tested negative on Saturday, but will need another negative result before returning to the team.
