MLB: New York Yankees-Workouts Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone, welcome to the weekend. Today, Josh analyzes the Yankees’ (virtual) struggles, and Matt remembers the one of the weirdest games in the long history of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry. Peter will also wonder if the Yankees have the depth to withstand an absence from DJ LeMahieu, and with exhibition matchups against the Mets and Phillies looming next week, Evan takes an interesting look at all the former Yankees that populate those teams, and how their replacements on the Yankees reflect the team’s direction.

Fun Questions

  1. What’s your favorite regular-season Yankees-Red Sox memory? Perhaps the 2012 nine-run comeback, or Alex Rodriguez’s 15th inning walkoff homer in 2009? Maybe the 2006 edition of the Boston Massacre?
  2. What do you think is more valuable in a shortened season, an ace or an elite position player?
