The biggest rivalries in Yankees history

It’s Rivalry Week at SB Nation! Sites across the network will explore the bitterest rivalries in their team’s history. The Yankees have more than a few notable rivalries to consider, so we’ll have to get creative with our responses. That brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday prompt:

What are the biggest rivalries in Yankees history?

The Red Sox. I know it. You know it.

Now that we have that out of our system, we can peel back the layers and find some more in-depth examples. You might want to talk about the 2003 ALCS brawl, the one where Pedro Martinez tossed Don Zimmer. There’s Alex Rodriguez and Jason Varitek. Or Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Dempster. Or maybe you want to stray away from Boston all together and talk about the Mets (Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza, anyone?) or the Astros. These are just recent examples. The team has a long history, so you can do some digging and find some surprising stories. Head over to the FanPost section and submit your answer.
