It’s been 52 days since Major League Baseball announced the suspension of spring training and the delaying of Opening Day. Although no official activities have occurred in quite some time, players throughout the league have continued to keep loose. Let’s check back in and see what some Yankees have been up to.

Aroldis Chapman

Another day, another backyard bullpen from the Cuban Missile. If you’ve ever wanted an umpire’s view of Chapman on the mound, this video will show you what it’s like. His bullpen features his famous fastball, and some of his breaking pitch as well. When baseball returns, there’s no doubt that Chapman will be ready.

Gleyber Torres

The 23-year-old phenom hopped on social media to offer encouraging words to the people of New York. A nice gesture by Torres as we all continue to wait for the pandemic to end.

Tommy Kahnle

We’ve been keeping you updated on how Tommy Kahnle has been doing in the MLB The Show Players League tournament. Unfortunately, Kahnle’s run has come to an end as he missed the playoffs. The top eight teams made it to the postseason, Kahnle finished ninth, just a game behind Gavin Lux of the Dodgers. Tough break for TK as he showed some grit the further he went into the tournament. Blake Snell will take on Lucas Giolito in the Players League World Series today at 2:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.

Gary Sanchez

We saw Chapman working out in his backyard, now we have Gary Sanchez taking some batting practice out on the field. He’s looking good and looks slim. If the season were to start right now, El Kraken would be ready.

That’s all the updates we have for you today. Check back next week to see more of what the Yankees are doing during their free time!
