It’s been 59 days since Major League Baseball announced the suspension of spring training and the delaying of Opening Day. Although no official activities have occurred in quite some time, players throughout the league have continued to keep loose. Let’s check back in and see what some Yankees have been up to.
Aaron Hicks
The outfielder announced on his Instagram story that he and his wife gave birth to their newborn baby son, Jaylen. Aaron Michael Hicks Jr. was born back in January of last year, making Jaylen their second child.
Gio Urshela
Urshela took Instagram to support the Connecticut Cancer Foundation. The foundation held “Giving Tuesday Now” on May 5th, which was a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration supporting philanthropy during these difficult times. Even though the day has passed, you can still donate if you would like. Here is the link to do so.
Luke Voit
Back in early March, Luke Voit had a children’s book based on him. He was supposed to visit a number of Bronx-area schools to read the book, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, those plans were obviously canceled. Voit still made the most of it and autographed the books to send to those students.
Gleyber Torres
Check out the fresh cut on Gleyber! He posted on his Instagram story a picture of him with cornrows, and I’m all here for it. He even has a goatee too.
Giancarlo Stanton
Last, but certainly not least, Giancarlo Stanton had a blast on Cinco de Mayo! Here’s a video of him with a funny filter on his face and singing his heart out.
That’s all the updates we have for you today. Check back next week to see more of what the Yankees are doing during their free time!
