Hello, friends, I hope you’re all doing okay. I understand many of our readers are grappling with the effects of COVID-19, whether directly or by association, physically or economically. I want you all to know that the PSA family is thinking about and pulling for you all.
I know that social distancing presents a number of challenges, including the potential for feelings of loneliness or isolation. That’s why I don’t like that term; I prefer physical distancing. The brilliance of this platform is that it lets us be social—it provides a space for Yankees fans to share a community.
For that reason, I find it important to continue publishing stories on PSA. While baseball may seem inconsequential at the moment, the outlet could be therapeutic to a great many of our readers and staff. We may not have live games to recap, performances to analyze, or transactions to break down, but we can make do in other, creative fashions.
With that in mind, I’d like to introduce two new series to the site: Yankees Rewatch and PSA Night at the Movies. For Yankees Rewatch, we will make a thread for a particular game, share how to watch, as well as share a start time. Then we can participate in it as a regular game thread, discussing what we forgot, what would be important later, and other fun thoughts. PSA Night at the Movies will share a similar format. We’ll pick a film, announce a time and share how to watch it. Then we’ll get together and discuss the movie.
Here’s a schedule for the upcoming events:
Wednesday, March 25 - Yankees Rewatch: May 17, 2019 vs. Tampa Bay Rays (7 PM ET)
Friday, March 27 - PSA Night at the Movies: Late Life: The Chien-Ming Wang Story (8 PM ET)
Sunday, March 29 - Yankees Rewatch: July 23, 2019 vs. Minnesota Twins (6 PM ET—this one’s long)
Hope to see you all there!
