The coronavirus pandemic has hit close to our baseball home, as a Yankees minor leaguer became the first player in the sport to test positive for COVID-19. The team is thankfully following the guidance of the Hillsborough County Health Department, and no one else has reported symptoms yet.
As the world has come to a temporary, yet necessary, standstill, we can pass the time with our weekly mailbag. I suspect a significant number of questions will have to do with the coronavirus. I studied the humanities in college, so I have no credentials to speak to the health and medical side. I can, however, talk about how it affects the game, so please keep that in mind. Any and other baseball questions are always fair game, too.
Answers will run on Friday morning. All questions received by the night of March 19th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks everyone!
