We have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shut down back in March. Although the baseball season is over, we’ll still provide weekly updates on what your favorite Yankees do when they’re not on the diamond!
Gary Sánchez hits long home run in winter league
The Yankee catcher recently celebrated his 28th birthday this past week, as well as the celebration of a new contract with the Bombers. After his disastrous 2020 season, Sánchez is trying to get himself back on track, and he’s doing so by playing in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM). He mashed a mammoth home run during Saturday night’s game on a 3-0 pitch that was left over the heart of the plate. It’s sure good to see Gary bombs again.

Jasson Dominguez has otherworldly exit velocity
Speaking of players who have the ability to crush baseballs, New York’s top prospect Jasson Dominguez posted a video of him taking some hacks in the cage, but this was not your ordinary batting practice. Dominguez, who is only 17, was smashing baseballs over 100 mph, including 104 mph as his highest. Yankees fans should be all kinds of excited for the potential of Dominguez in the Bronx.

Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman rappel down building
In preparation for the Heights & Lights program, Yankees GM Brian Cashman and Manager Aaron Boone both rappelled down the Landmark Building in Stamford, CT. Boone posted pictures of their endeavor on top of the 22-story building, which, in case you don’t know, is very high.
CC Sabathia will have documentary on HBO
HBO Sports and Major League Baseball have teamed up to create a documentary called Under The Grapefruit Tree: The CC Sabathia Story, about the life and career of the former pitcher. It will debut on December 22nd and will feature behind-the-scenes clips of Sabathia’s final season. This is something that seems every Yankees fan should watch!
