Which player should the Yankees target in a trade?

Free agency is on everyone’s mind these days, and with all the DJ LeMahieu rumors swirling, it’s understandable. However, Brian Cashman has proven time and time again over his multiple decades on the job that the Yankees don’t just operate on the open market. The GM also has a keen eye in the trade game, and few of the team’s trades over the past decade have worked out poorly.

Since that’s definitely an avenue the Yankees could pursue in anticipation of 2021, here’s a new FanPost Friday prompt:

Which player should the Yankees target in a trade?

There’s a whole bunch of talent swirling around the majors these days, so take your pick of the litter and make the case for why the Yankees should pursue them! We’re not looking for trade proposals; we want to see you outline why this player is good and why he would be perfect for the Yankees in 2021. They could be someone famous and frequently discussed, or perhaps an overlooked hidden gem who the Yankees could turn into an Aaron Hicks/Gio Urshela-esque pickup. You make the case and the call!

Check out the FanPost section of Pinstripe Alley and let us know your thoughts. We’ll feature one of the submissions on the front page on Friday.

How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page. We are always on the lookout for new talent, and the FanPost section can be a great way to get our attention.

Submit your answer in the FanPost section before December 18th for your post to be considered.
