Game One of the 2020 ALDS between the Yankees and Rays gets underway in a few hours. News continues to develop, and expect more as Aaron Boone meets with the media. For now, though, the team released tonight’s lineup.
There are no major surprises here. In fact, the top seven is exactly the same as the Wild Card Series. Things get interesting after that, though, as Clint Frazier takes over for Brett Gardner in left field.
Frazier, 26, hit .267/.394/.511 with eight home runs (149 wRC+) over 160 plate appearances in 2020. He also played quality defense, so the right-handed batter figures to be a good match against Rays southpaw Blake Snell.

Kyle Higashioka will also catch for Gerrit Cole, which isn’t a surprise as well. Expect that to be the battery moving forward.
