What the Yankees have been up to this winter

Let’s take a spin around social media to see what the Yankees themselves have been getting up to this offseason

Outside of the Gerrit Cole signing, the Yankees have not had much going on this offseason in terms of changes to the team. This is in large part because significant change wasn’t entirely necessary. This team, with Gerrit Cole now, will be the best team on paper going into the 2020 season, and already has the best odds to finish the year with the best record and a World Series championship.

With pitchers and catchers reporting only 20 days from now and spring training getting closer and closer, let’s take a spin around social media to see what the Yankees have been up to this offseason as they prepare for 2020.

Let’s start with the Yankees’ most active social media user, Gleyber Torres. His social media activity begun this offseason with a GIF tweet showing his approval regarding the Yankees signing Gerrit Cole.

Torres also took to both Instagram and Twitter to show Yankee fans and the world wide web the work he has been putting in this offseason with a series of posts in mid-January.

Torres isn’t the only Yankee that has been putting in work. Giancarlo Stanton broke the internet just the other day showing off his workout routine that was certainly different than the average workout.

Luke Voit is also not one to shy away from pumping some iron. Here’s a video from Fitz Performance that Luke retweeted of himself getting stronger this offseason.

Here’s a video of Masahiro Tanaka putting in some work on the mound ahead of spring training.

Miguel Andujar is another player that missed nearly all of last season. According to this post, Andujar has been working out with Aaron Boone and a few of his teammates. This will be a very interesting season for Andujar, who will be fighting for playing time right when spring training begins.

Plenty of players took to social media, Yankee players or not, to congratulate Derek Jeter for getting elected into the Hall of Fame, just like Aaron Judge did here.

However, Judge’s most notable social media activity this winter may have been something he deleted, not posted. When MLB’s report regarding the Astros’ sign-stealing was released, Judge took down his posts congratulating Jose Altuve for winning the 2017 AL MVP, an award for which Judge finished runner-up.

Well, there are 17 days left until pitchers and catchers report, and up until now, this is what the Yankees have been doing. Follow all these players on social media to stay in touch with them as they get closer to the beginning of the season; and of course follow @pinstripealley on Instagram and Twitter to stay in touch with your favorite Yankee blog!
