As the offseason winds down and spring training approaches, Pinstripe Alley is looking to increase our coverage. To keep up with the demand for the best free Yankees content on the web, we’re hoping to add a few new staff members this season.
Writing Staff
Incoming writers will be expected to contribute three articles per week, and will be paid a monthly stipend. These can be original content, like analysis pieces and editorials, or game recaps during the season. If you’re interested in joining the Pinstripe Alley writing staff, we have a simple application process. We ask that you submit a FanPost addressing the following prompt:
- How would you grade the Yankees’ offseason to date, and why?
We also ask that you include two topics that you would like to pitch as articles, so we can get an idea for the type of content you would like to contribute.
In general, we look for writers with unique voices and a command for persuasive, cogent arguments. Familiarity with data provided by FanGraphs, Statcast, and similar platforms is a plus. Demonstrating the ability to incorporate that source material will put your post at an advantage.
FanPost submissions should be between 500-1000 words in length. Please indicate at the top of the post that you would like to be considered for a writing position. You must be a registered member of the site to create a FanPost. The registration form can be found at the bottom of each page.
All submissions have a 10 PM EST deadline on Tuesday, January 21st.
Update: You may also submit an application by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
The Pinstripe Alley team is composed of a group of incredibly talented and hard-working Yankees fans. If that sounds like a fun environment to you, please consider applying. We are excited to welcome a few new members!
Vox Media is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a safe, inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds. Everyone is encouraged to apply, including women, LGBTQ people, people of color, and people with disabilities.
