SNY.tv | Corey Hersch: A report came out in December that the Yankees had come to terms with Brett Gardner on a one-year deal worth $12.5 million with a 2021 club option worth $10 million. Well, today those reports were confirmed as Brett Gardner will officially be joining the Yankees again next season and, if the Yankees decide, possibly for 2021 as well. Bringing back Gardner was the right decision after he had his best offensive season, and his presence in the clubhouse plays an enormous role.
NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: Yankees superstar 16-year old prospect Jasson Dominguez continues to train for the big leagues. Seen on his Twitter page is a video of him hitting absolute moonshots bearing his Yankee gear. He is currently the Yankees’ #2 prospect according to MLB.com behind only Deivi Garcia. It’s nice to dream about what the Yankees lineup will look like with him in it a few years from now.
NYDailyNews.com | Bill Madden: With the Yankees signing Gerrit Cole, they look to easily be the best team in the AL East for the second year in a row. The Rays figure to be their biggest competitor having won 96 games last season, and the Blue Jays have made interesting moves to support the second phase of their rebuild. The Red Sox however, have not gotten any better than they were last season as they’re slowly trying to shed payroll. Then there’s the Orioles, who most likely will be among the worst teams in baseball again. 2020 should be the year of the Evil Empire in the AL East.
