On this week’s episode of A Call Away we are joined by Jon Mozes. In his sixth season with the Trenton Thunder, and second as the lead broadcaster for the team, Mozes got to experience an Eastern League championship with the Yankees Double-A affiliate this past season.
The year wrapped up with a series sweep over the Reading Fightin’ Phils in the Eastern Division Championship Series, before the Thunder used a slew of MLB rehabbers to take the EL Championship from the Bowie Baysox in four games.
In our conversation we talk to him about calling the final out and what it means to get to be part of such a special run over five-plus months, beginning in April and culminating in September. He also discusses the bounce-back season by Eastern League MVP, Chris Gittens, plus the countless impressive performances by pitchers on the Thunder this season including Deivi Garcia, Albert Abreu and Nick Nelson.
