Yesterday’s 7-0 loss was miserable and snapped a 220-game streak where the Yankees scored at least one run. They bounced back in a big way today thanks in large part to James Paxton, Gary Sanchez, and a six-run sixth inning. This team can be so fun. We’ll have a full recap up later. Check out the highlights:
Winner(s) of the Game
Paxton was absolutely filthy tonight. He started mixing in more curveballs last month and that seems to be working for him. Big Maple carried a no-hitter to the fifth inning, but that doesn’t tell the full story. The southpaw racked up 12 strikeouts over seven innings. He surrendered just one hit, and walked one batter. This is definitely the right time for him to get it together. I’ll take Paxton versus anyone in the postseason.
Oh yeah, and Gary Sanchez hit two home runs. He has a whopping 34 on the season now.
