There you have it, the 2019 regular season is in the books. The Yankees finished the year with 103 wins after dropping game 162 by a score of 6-1. We’ll have a full recap up shortly. In the meantime, here are the highlights:
Winner of the Game
Aaron Judge once again delivered the offensive highlight of the game. The right fielder crushed his 27th home run on the year in the third inning. That would be all the Yankees could muster against Lance Lynn and the Rangers relief staff. Bleh.
Loser of the Game
Masahiro Tanaka made his first appearance out of the Yankees bullpen on Sunday afternoon, and it didn’t go remarkably well. He looked flat in his postseason tuneup, allowing five hits over three innings with a walk and two strikeouts. The right-hander also misplayed a pickoff attempt.
Honorable Mention: The rest of the pitching staff, Gio Urshela potentially getting injured
