The American League alignment is officially set. Now, on the last day of the regular season Masahiro Tanaka, will get his tune up appearance as he prepares to go against the Twins in Minnesota for Game Three of the ALDS. Tanaka is coming off a great start versus the Los Angeles Angels, having gone seven innings, allowing just four hits and one run, while striking out six. Much of the attention will be paid towards his split-finger, seeing whether it stays as effective as it did during his last outing.

Since the next game will be on Friday you should expect to see the bullpen elites in this one considering they haven’t pitched during this series at all. Furthermore, Aroldis Chapman has pitched a total of 3.1 innings during September. With a bullpen audition going on and lop-sided games in Texas, there has not been many opportunities for top five relievers to be used, but Aaron Boone may want to give them some work so as to prevent a long layoff.

Lance Lynn will look to continue his productive season that has him ranked second among American League starting pitchers in fWAR, between Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander. Lynn was a bright spot in the St.Louis Cardinals’ rotation earlier in his career but seems to have found a new grove in Texas, generating the highest K/9 rate of his career, and lowest walk rate as well. He last faced the Yankees in the Bronx on September 4th, tossing five innings, allowing two homers while giving up three runs.

Here are the lineups:

Today’s game can be YES of Fubo.tv, and heard on WFAN or WADO. First pitch will be at 3:05 PM EST. Lets go Yankees!
