As we head into the final day of the regular season, only a few “races” are left. Kind of lame! I am a card-carrying member of #TeamEntropy. Here are some items of interest from yesterday’s slate of games.
Dodgers win sixth straight with 2-0 victory over the Giants
The Dodgers coasted to a 2-0 win, their 105th on the season, on the backs of two key contributors. Max Muncy hit his 35th home run of the year, while Hyun-jin Ryu tossed seven shoutout innings and collected an RBI of his own. With that victory, Los Angeles now holds the home-field advantage card over the Yankees should the two meet in the World Series.
Athletics will host AL Wild Card Game
Two nights ago we learned the AL Wild Card Game would feature the Athletics and Rays. The question of hosting duties, however, remained. We now know that Wednesday’s game will take place in Oakland. The Rays lost to the Blue Jays by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon, but that was’t the decisive blow. Instead, those honors went to the the A’s, who took care of business themselves with a 1-0 victory over Seattle.
