The Yankees’ magic number to clinch the AL East has dropped into the single digits. It’s possible the team will have a champagne celebration within a week or so. That’s exciting! The Bombers haven’t captured the division crown since 2012, so it will be sweet when they finally do.

Fans have grown excited at the idea of taking home the AL East title. This week’s FanPulse polling shows that, as confidence in the team has jumped up to 92%. You have to go back to Week 11 (94%) to find a better number.

Approval in Aaron Boone’s job performance, meanwhile, has reached an all-time high. The manager sports a 92% confidence rating, far and away the highest mark since FanPulse polling started in spring training. His previous high was 87%.

This week’s national poll has to do with the AL Central race. Responses overwhelmingly favor the Twins to win the division.

Cleveland got back into the race for a little while, but the Twins have turned it into a bit of a runaway.
