The Yankees are standing tall after knocking the defending champion Boston Red Sox out of division contention in the AL East. The team can now breathe a little bit as they head up to Detroit to face the worst team in the American League.
In tonight’s game, the Yankees won’t be trotting out their A-lineup. That’s okay, as the Tigers don’t pose much of a challenge, being 58 games under .500. This is what the funky lineup will look like tonight.

The Yankees will start Nestor Cortes Jr. and will most likely go with a bullpen game giving their starters a rest. Players like Clint Frazier, Tyler Wade, and Mike Ford will get the nod today as they replace every day starters DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Judge, and Luke Voit.

The Tigers welcome the Bombers with a lineup highlighted by veteran Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera, in his seventeenth year is batting .289 with ten home runs and 53 RBI.
While this game should be an easy win for the Yankees, nobody can be overlooked at this point of the season as every win is critical right now. The Yankees are aiming for the best record in the American League to be awarded home-field advantage in the playoffs. They are neck and neck with the Houston Astros right now as they both stand at 95-50 on the year.
First pitch was scheduled for 6:40 PM. You can watch on YES, stream on fubo.tv, or listen along on WFAN or WADO. Go Yankees!
