The Yankees have now won five straight games including a four-game sweep against the Boston Red Sox and will try to continue their streak in Baltimore. Gleyber Torres, who has been an Orioles killer this year, will make the trip down with the team after avoiding the injured list. In this series the Yankees could take advantage of a weaker Orioles team as they attempt to distance themselves from the Tampa Bay Rays as much as they have the Red Sox.

Gio Urshela will be on the bench today, understandably so after fouling two pitches off his legs yesterday. Masahiro Tanaka will take the mound looking to get back on track against the Orioles, a team he has found success facing this season. He has pitched a total of 11.2 innings against them, allowing just two earned runs with ten strikeouts and one walk.

Gabriel Ynoa has not started a game for the Orioles since June 30th, meaning his appearance should be more like an opener compared to a starter. However, Ynoa has been impressive coming out of the bullpen; over his last 14.1 innings, spanning six different outings, he has allowed two earned runs while striking out nine. One reason for the recent success of the Ynao is his slider, currently posing an xBA of .235 and xSLG of .390 this season. Understandably, he has raised his slider usage to 35.8% during the 14.1 innings, 21.1% before that.
