The Yankees lost the first game of the series by a score of 8-2. In fact, they’ve lost their last four games against the A’s. They will try to avoid dropping their fifth straight as they send Domingo German to the mound.
German is 17-3 with a 4.03 ERA in 22 starts this season. In his most recent outing, the right-hander held the Dodgers to just one run over six innings. He should be pretty familiar with this Oakland lineup, having faced them under two weeks ago. In that game, German hurled 5.1 frames, surrendering five earned runs, resulting in a Yankees loss. He will be looking for a different result this time around.

The Bronx Bombers will be up against the veteran right-hander Homer Bailey. Bailey owns a 1.93 ERA over his last three starts, including a win over New York on August 20th where he held them to only one run in 5.2 innings.
