Yankees Highlights: At least Luke Voit played well

The Bombers continue to struggle against the A’s.

MLB: Oakland Athletics at New York Yankees Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

How about those Oakland A’s, huh? They’ve had the Yankees’ number in every game they’ve played this season. That’s annoying.

We’ll have a full recap of tonight’s 8-2 loss in a little while. While you wait, here are some highlights:

Winner of the Game

Luke Voit returned to the Yankees’ lineup, and he made an instant impression. The first baseman went 2-for-4 in his first game back from a sports hernia. There weren’t a ton of bright spots in tonight’s game, but Voit coming back and not missing a beat sure feels good.

Loser of the Game

Tommy Kahnle recapturing his 2017 form has stood out as one of this season’s best storylines. Unfortunately he hit a roadblock on Friday night, allowing three runs on three hits in an inning of work. He struggled to find the zone; it was clear he didn’t have anything working.

Everyone has rough outings. Tonight just turned out to be Kahnle’s turn. It happens.

Honorable Mention: CC Sabathia’s right knee, everyone who pitched for the Yankees tonight
