Yankees Highlights: Bombers bury Red Sox on Gleyber Day

It’s a doubleheader sweep!

Aside from the injury to Edwin Encarnacion, it was a good Yankees baseball day! It doesn’t get much better than sweeping a doubleheader against Boston. A full recap will follow shortly. Here are the highlights:

Winner(s) of the Game

In the first game of the doubleheader, DJ LeMahieu hit two home runs. Not to be outdone, Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres launched two dingers of his own tonight. He almost had a third one too! He had to settle for a leadoff double off the top of the right field wall instead, missing a home run in the seventh by just a couple of inches.

It’s safe to say that Mike Tauchman has been all-around better than expected. He broke up the 4-4 tie tonight with a two-run single.

Loser of the Game

The Yankees won the doubleheader and are up 3-0 in this series. No one deserves this title today.
