The Yankees have officially won this series in Seattle, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow’s game. It’s safe to say that they salvaged this road trip despite the awful start in Oakland. We’ll run a full recap in the morning. Here are the highlights:
Winner(s) of the Game
Masahiro Tanaka looked terrific tonight! He took a no-hitter to the fifth inning. Kyle Seager ruined it, but it was still an excellent outing for Tanaka. His location was good, his stuff was great, and he got a lot of swings and misses. He was also more animated than usual, and it’s always fun to see him fired up. His final line: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K.
Aaron Judge also had quite the night. The outfielder has absolutely raked over the past few games, and that continued. Wasting no time at all, he knocked the 100th home run of his career to center field in the first inning. He also collected another hit in the sixth. This is definitely the right time for him to heat up at the plate.
