The Yankees started their final road trip out west with a loss to the Athletics last night. They’ll send J.A. Happ to the mound tonight to try and even out the series. The southpaw only surrendered two runs and didn’t give up any home runs during his last outing against the Orioles, so he has that going for him. He hasn’t been very good generally speaking, but we’ll see what happens.
Mike Fiers will toe the rubber for Oakland. The veteran has put together a pretty good season, but is coming off of one of his worst starts of the year. He surrendered four home runs to the Astros last week. Maybe he’s up for tossing a home-run derby tonight.
