Following Sunday’s loss, the Yankees traveled cross-country. After a day off, they’re back in action tonight. Tonight starts a West Coast road trip that sees that them play nine straight games in the Pacific Time Zone. It all starts tonight with the opener of a three-game set in Oakland.
After meeting in the AL Wild Card Game last year, the Yankees and Athletics will face for the first time in 2019 tonight. Oakland struggled to start the season, but they’ve been excellent since about May, going 57-35, which would be a 100-win pace over a full season.
This is a crucial series for both teams. As the Yankees battle for home-field advantage, the A’s are just a game out of the second Wild Card. Let the games begin.
The Yankees are sending Domingo German to the hill to kick things off. German was really good last time out, allowing just two runs on five hits in seven innings last Tuesday. It should be noted that it was against the Orioles, however.
A lot of late night baseball coming your way.

For Oakland, Homer Bailey will get the ball. The former Red and Royal was traded to the Bay Area back in July, but things haven’t quite worked out for him so far. He comes into his game with an ERA over six, while for the season on the whole, it’s at 5.22.
