The Yankees have had it easy for a little while, cruising through series against the Orioles and Blue Jays. They’ll have to flip the switch starting tonight though as they kick off a stretch where three of the next four series on the schedule are against playoff teams or clubs knocking on the door.

The Yankees will use a bullpen game to get the series started tonight. Chad Green will open once again, a role in which he’s thrived. Green has made 11 starts this year and has pitched to a 1.80 ERA over 15 innings in that role. He’ll likely be followed by a combination of Jonathan Loaisiga and Nestor Cortes Jr. for innings 2-6.

Adam Plutko will take the mound for the Indians looking to rebound from a poor start against the Twins his last time out. He’s faced the Yankees once this year, earning the win with six innings of two-run ball. For the season, Plutko is 4-3 with a 4.68 ERA while pitching in a significantly larger role than expected thanks to injuries to Corey Kluber and Danny Salazar, plus Carlos Carrasco’s battle with leukemia.
