With their extra-inning victory last night, the Yankees stretched their division lead to 8.5 games. The Bombers will look to extend that lead today with CC Sabathia on the mound. The veteran lefty should be very well rested as the last time he pitched was 12 days ago, when he hurled six innings of two-run ball against the Blue Jays. In his last outing against the Rays in mid-June, Sabathia went six innings striking out nine and surrendering two runs on six hits.

Didi Gregorius gets the day off as Gleyber Torres slides over to play shortstop and DJ LeMahieu fills in at the keystone.

The Yankees have won their last 11 games against AL East opponents. It’s their longest such streak since 1999.

Tampa Bay will have Blake Snell on the bump. His last outing against the Yankees was not pretty. He faced seven batters and recorded just one out in the first inning before being pulled. He allowed six runs and walked four. Here’s his supporting cast today:

The game can be seen on YES, streamed on FuboTV, and heard on WFAN and WADO. First pitch is at 4:10. Let’s hope the Yankees take the series!
