Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Yankees fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

The Yankees hit quite the rough patch last week, dropping three out of four to the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. The team also put on a clinic for hilariously poor starting pitching. It wasn’t pretty.

Combine that poor performance with the lack of ready-made aces available at the trade deadline, and Yankees got understandably nervous. It showed in this week’s FanPulse poll, as team confidence dropped from 84% to 73%. The last time the Yankees had a confidence rating in the 70s? You would have to go all the way back to Week 12.

Aaron Boone weathered the storm a bit better. His manager approval rating only fell from 86% to 83%. I find that a little surprising considering how volatile his confidence numbers have been of late.

With the trade deadline hours away, expect fan confidence to shift drastically for next week. A big splash could have everyone feeling good, while an underwhelming return may lead to a low approval rating. We’ll find out soon enough.
