There’s no denying that this Yankees-Twins series was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. After back-to-back rollercoaster games, the series finale didn’t disappoint. The two teams exchanged blows, but it was the Bombers who came out on top and won the series. Here are the highlights:
Winner(s) of the Game
The entire lineup made meaningful contributions tonight. Three players in particular stand out, though. Didi Gregorius stayed hot, hitting an RBI double and two-run triple. Oddly enough, Mike Tauchman also smacked a two-run triple, along with a ground-rule double. Aaron Hicks also got in on the action with an upper deck home run and RBI single.

Honorable Mention: Tommy Kahnle
Loser of the Game
Starting pitchers sure didn’t fare well in this series. In this morning’s open thread, I joked about how many home runs J.A. Happ would surrender in this game. He gave up a pair of two-run bombs before all was said and done. The southpaw was also responsible for the two other runs the Twins scored before he was chased in the fourth inning.
