The Yankees’ road trip got off to an inauspicious start last night, as they dropped the series opener to the Twins. In addition to that, they were coming off a loss on Sunday against the Rockies. Those two losses marked the first time they had lost consecutive games since the final two games before the All-Star break. That streak may be gone, but they haven’t lost three straight in over a month, so let’s hope they keep that trend going.
To try and bounce back tonight, the Yankees will send Domingo German to the mound, who has been arguably the Yankees’ best starter so far this season. German has been excellent since his return from the injured list, allowing just three runs in his last 18 innings across three starts. He’ll face a tough task tonight in the Twins, who, as we saw last night, have quite a lot of power.
As for the rest of the lineup, the on fire Mike Tauchman stays in the lineup, and DJ LeMahieu gets the night off. Let’s hope for no more triple plays.
Domingo takes the mound in game two in Minny.

Meanwhile, the Twins will hand the ball to Kyle Gibson to start. Gibson’s having a decent season himself, and is coming off a seven inning, three run outing against Oakland. However, he lasted just 3.2 innings in the start prior to that.
