After a couple days in London, the Yankees are back on the other side of the pond. It was a successful trip on the field, with two wins in two games over the Red Sox, but Luke Voit was lost to an injury while over there.
Now back over here, it’s on from one rival to another. The Yankees will open up a two-game series against the Mets tonight. After splitting a pair of games in Yankee Stadium a couple weeks ago, the play shifts to Queens for this week’s set. The Yankees may have gone to another continent, but the Mets have had quite an adventurous last couple weeks themselves.
James Paxton will take the mound for the Yankees, looking to bounce back his recent struggles, which included a bad start against the Mets. It’ll be a day short of a week since his last start, so hopefully the extra rest does him some good.
As the game is at Citi Field, Paxton will also be hitting. He’s batting ninth. Except for the lack of a DH and Voit and Giancarlo Stanton on the IL, this is pretty close to a full strength lineup.
Back stateside to settle some unfinished Subway Series business.

As for the Mets, here’s what they’ll be running out tonight. Zack Wheeler gets the ball for them, coming off a pair of pretty decent starts.
