Only seven percent of fans want the Bombers to stay put on July 31.

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Yankees fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

This week’s FanPulse zeroes in on the July 31 trade deadline. SB Nation asked every fanbase if they believed their team should buy, sell off pieces, or stand pat come the end of the month. In an unsurprising turn of events, 93% of Yankees fans said the team should buy.

That result makes a lot of sense! The Yankees have the best record in baseball and they haven’t made a World Series appearance in 10 years. They should absolutely make upgrades. If not now, when?

As for the weekly surveys, FanPulse results derive from polls delivered each Monday. That means, at the time questionnaires went out, respondents thought that the Yankees were in a bit of an offensive slump. The post-London lethargy still had its hold, as it wasn’t until the monstrous eighth inning Tuesday night that things appeared in good shape. All this to say that fan confidence in the team dropped from 85% to 82% for Week 17. Expect a big upward swing next week.

Manager approval for Aaron Boone, meanwhile, climbed to 82%. I suspect that will only grow following his profanity-laced explosion at home plate umpire Brennan Miller on Thursday. His savages speech may have made him the most popular man in town, if only for a short while.
