The second half of the season got off to a pretty good start for the Yankees last night. They won, they got six shutout innings from a recently returned starting pitcher, and their recent acquisition came through with the game’s big hit.

While today’s game has still yet to be played, at least one good thing will for sure happen in it.

The big news today is the return of Luke Voit. The first baseman has been out since the London Series, but makes his return this afternoon. Not shockingly, he goes straight back to first base and right back into the heart of the order at the number three spot.

In general, the Yankees’ lineup today is probably the strongest they can run out right now. That might be a necessary thing with who’s on the mound.

J.A. Happ gets the ball for the Yankees in today’s game in the Bronx. Home games have been where Happ’s 2019 has gone wrong so far. He has a 6.29 ERA and is averaging less than five innings per start at Yankee Stadium.

As for the Blue Jays, Clayton Richard will take the mound. His most recent start against the Yankees came a couple weeks ago on June 25th, when the Yankees tagged him for three home runs in six innings.

Today’s game can be seen on YES and the MLB Network, or heard on WFAN and WADO. First pitch will be at 1:05 PM ET. Go Yankees, go baseball.
