Welcome to the second half, folks. The Yankees open back up for business with a 6.5 game lead in the AL East, and greet another division foe to town in the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yankees haven’t seen much of Toronto this season, playing only two series to a 4-2 record, but they’ll be a pivotal matchup in the Yankees stretch run beginning tonight.

Domingo German gets the start on the mound for New York, and he looked much more like the dominant German that started the season when he returned from the IL against the Mets on July 3. German pitched an efficient six innings in that outing, giving up a lone run on a solo shot, and he’ll look to go beyond the 75-80 pitch limit that was in place as he got settled back in.

Aaron Sanchez will face off against German for the Jays, and it has been a season to forget for Sanchez. Pitching in his first full season since 2016, when he was an All-Star, Sanchez has been lit up to a 6.16 ERA (5.56 FIP). He’s only gone deeper than six innings once this season, so the Yankees should take advantage of him while he’s in.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EST. You can catch the action live on YES, or stream the game with mlb.tv or fubo.tv. You can also listen to the broadcast with WFAN 660/101.9 FM or WADO 1280.
