Despite yesterday’s loss, last week was a pretty good one for the Yankees. They swept the Rays, and then followed that up by taking three of four against the Astros. Thanks to the 6-1 week, they’re now up 4.5 in the East and a game behind the Twins for the best record in the AL.
This week will see the Yankees head across the pond to play a pair of games in London against the Red Sox. However before that, they’ll host the Blue Jays, starting tonight.
To kick things off, the Yankees will send CC Sabathia to the mound in the series opener. After a couple down starts in a row, Sabathia bounced back with a one-run, three-hit, six/inning outing against the Rays. If you go by game score, it was his second best outing of the season.
Behind him, we’ll see another edition of the daily infield shuffle. Luke Voit moves to the DH spot, as Edwin Encarnacion get the day off against his former team. DJ LeMahieu shifts over to first, while Gio Urshela plays third. Aaron Judge also gets a day off after his weekend return.
The week of international competition starts now.

As for Toronto, they’ll give the ball to Aaron Sanchez, who hasn’t been great of late. He’s made four starts in June, and currently sports an 11.09 ERA in them.
