In what was touted as the Yankees’ most important week of the season, the Bombers have dominated. They embarrassed the Tampa Bay Rays in a sweep and have taken the first two games of a four-game series against the Houston Astros, two of the best teams in the AL. They’ll look to make it eight straight wins with a victory tonight.

Masahiro Tanaka will take the hill for the Yankees for the first time since his masterful start against the Rays on Monday. Tanaka threw a complete game shutout, continuing his stretch of excellence in important games. With tonight’s contest against an even tougher opponent, the Yankees will need “big game” Tanaka to show up again.

The Astros turn to Wade Miley tonight, looking to buck a six-game losing streak of their own. Miley has turned his career around after two rough years in Seattle and Baltimore, and has replaced Dallas Keuchel capably in the rotation with a 6-4 record, 3.30 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. However, the Yankees have historically fared quite well against Miley. He’s 0-4 with a 5.86 ERA in 10 starts against New York.
