The first three games of this week could not have gone much better; the Yankees will come into this series on the back of a sweep against the Rays. Things don’t get much easier as now they have to welcome the AL West leading Astros to town for a four-game series. A lot can happen between now and then, but it would not be shocking to see these teams meet again in October.

For tonight’s series opener, the Yankees will be using Chad Green as, well, an opener. Green has had mixed results in that role, but he is coming in on a high. Last time out, Green struck out six of the seven batters he faced. It will be a little difficult to replicate that as the Astros are a tad better than the White Sox.

As for the rest of the lineup, it’s probably an Aaron Judge and an Aaron Hicks away from being a full strength lineup.

Meanwhile, Framber Valdez will get the start for the Astros tonight. Valdez has been pretty good so far in his career, but this will be his first time facing the Yankees.

Also in his first time facing the Yankees is Yordan Alvarez. The highly-ranked prospect was called up earlier this month, and has lived up to the billing. In eight games so far, Alvarez has hit .333/.444/.767.

Tonight’s game can be seen on YES and Fubo TV, or heard on WFAN and WADO. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM ET. Go Yankees, go baseball.
