The Yankees will host the 73rd annual Old-Timers’ Day on Sunday, June 23, with festivities beginning at 11:30 AM. Afterwards, the Bombers will take on the Houston Astros in a 2:05 PM matinee.
Earlier today the Yankees revealed the full roster. Mariano Rivera headlines this year’s group as a first-time Old-Timer. The Hall of Fame closer is joined by Jason Grimsley, Jerry Hairston Jr., and Jean Stottlemyre (widow of Mel Stottlemyre), who will also make their first appearances.
Several notable returning Old-Timers include Whitey Ford, Don Larsen, Reggie Jackson, Ron Guidry, Chris Chambliss, David Cone, David Wells, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, and Paul O’Neill.
In addition to Stottlemyre, other widows attending are Helen Hunter (Catfish Hunter), Jill Martin (Billy Martin), Diana Munson (Thurman Munson), and Kay Murcer (Bobby Murcer).
