Let’s try this again, shall we?

Last night was supposed to be the opening game of the Subway Series, but the rain had other ideas. The game was postponed before it even got started, so here we are today. The teams will play two, starting with this afternoon’s matchup.

Just as he was scheduled to last night, Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball for the Yankees. Considering that he’s struggled a bit in his last two outings, hopefully the extra day will help him.

The rest of the lineup the Yankees are running out is actually different that what it was supposed to be last night. Gio Urshela was going to get the night off yesterday, but he slides back in at third for this afternoon. Instead, Gleyber Torres is the infielder out of the lineup for this game, as DJ LeMahieu slots in at second. Another change is Clint Frazier starting in right field instead of Cameron Maybin. Frazier was going to DH last night, but Luke Voit will now with Kendrys Morales going to first base.

Meanwhile, the Mets’ batting order is the same as it was scheduled to be yesterday, but they’re switching up the pitcher on the mound. Zack Wheeler was supposed to be the starting pitcher for today when there was only one game on the docket. Instead of starting tonight, he’s been moved up a couple hours for this game.

Today’s game can be seen on YES or Fubo TV, and heard on WFAN or WADO. First pitch will be at 1:05 PM ET. Go Yankees, go baseball.
