Newsday | David Lennon: When the Yankees signed DJ LeMahieu in January, some fans felt shortchanged. I know this because I thought it was an underwhelming move compared to a potential Manny Machado deal. LeMahieu, however, has quietly become a star in New York. Following last night’s game against the Red Sox, the infielder owns a .317/.368/.462 with a 121 wRC+. “He’s out there to rip your heart out,” said Aaron Boone of LeMahieu. Yeah, that sounds about right.

SNY | Andy Martino: The Dallas Keuchel rumors continue to grow. With word that Keuchel may sign shortly after 12:01 AM on Monday, Martino relates the Yankees’ serious interest. In fact, he goes so far as to say they’re “well positioned” to land the left-hander. Other teams are involved, but this is officially something to monitor.

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: The Yankees provided a few more injury updates, so buckle up. Aaron Judge continues to hit off a tee and could move to the batting cages soon. Giancarlo Stanton also appears on the verge of starting another rehab assignment. Meanwhile, Didi Gregorius continues to rehab with Scranton, and Dellin Betances is nearly facing live hitters. Imagine how good this team will be when the reinforcements arrive.

New York Post | Dan Martin: Speaking of Judge, he may be sidelined, but he isn’t checking out. He continues to hang around the team and remains a clubhouse presence. His leadership skills speak for themselves. “I feel like it’s part of my job, to keep everyone’s confidence up,’’ Judge told Martin. Consider that a job well done.

Finally, PSA wishes a speedy recovery to MLB.com writer and friend of the blog Bryan Hoch. He tore his ACL during yesterday’s Yankees-Red Sox media game AND still covered the night’s game!

Hoch’s the definition of a pro’s pro. Get well soon!
