After finishing up a weekend series against the Twins, the Yankees are back in action tonight, opening up a four-game series against the Mariners.
The banged up Yankees continued their winning run over the weekend, taking two of three against Minnesota. Yesterday’s victory marked ten wins in their last 15 games, despite having an extraordinary amount of players on the injured list. They got a little healthier over the weekend with Miguel Andujar’s return, and tonight they get another bat back in the lineup.
Clint Frazier was activated off the IL today, and goes straight in the lineup in the five slot. As for the rest of the lineup, Gleyber Torres gets the day off, as Thairo Estrada gets the start at shortstop.
On the mound, CC Sabathia is making his fifth start of the season, and the first since recording his 3000th strikeout. Sabathia’s been mostly good this season, but hasn’t gone deep into any game so far. Luckily if that’s an issue again tonight, the bullpen is semi-rested after Domingo German’s strong outing yesterday.

As for the Mariners, here is what they will run out tonight. Seattle’s mashed a league-leading 68 home runs this season, which is 16 more than any other team. This game will match up two of the AL home run leaders, as Jay Bruce and Gary Sanchez are part of a four-way tie at 11.
Meanwhile, Felix Hernandez is on the mound for Seattle, in an old school battle of the first and third place finishers in 2010 AL Cy Young voting.
